4ms SCM+ Overview

Create dynamic clocking patterns that cycle through chaos with the 4ms SCM Plus, a clock multiplier with eight gate outputs and complex beat manipulation features in a 12HP Eurorack module. The SCM+ combines the functionality of the original Shuffling Clock Multiplier (SCM) with the SCM Breakout (SCMBO) with higher precision hardware.

The module features five slipped/shuffled/skipped clock outputs and three steady clock outputs (x1, x2, x8). The five knobs with CV control offer a variety of functions including rotate, slip, shuffle, skip, and PW. Additionally, a 4x Fast button with gate trigger multiplies all outputs by x4, while the Mute button and gate trigger stop all outputs. The SCM+ ships with a ribbon power cable and mounting screws.

Clocking Functions

• Eight gate outputs, each multiplying up to x32
• Five slipped/shuffled/skipped clock outputs and three steady clock outputs

  • Rotate shifts multiply-by amount
  • Slip causes particular beats to land ahead in time
  • Shuffle selects which beats are affected by Slip
  • Skip omits certain beats in a pattern
  • Pulse Width controls width of output pulses
• Resync trigger input resets the slip/shuffle/skip counters
• 4x Fast button and gate jack increase multiply-by amount by a factor of four
• Mute button and gate jack stop all outputs

Advanced Features

• Save Clock feature restores last saved tempo when powering up
• Clock Bus jumper allows module to receive tempo from other modules over the power bus
• Free Run jumper allows unit to operate without an external clock
• LED dimmer trimpot allows for custom LED brightness
