A Guide to Birding with Binoculars

Alpen 10 x 50 Binoculars

Outfitted with large objectives that optimize their performance in low light and when observing across vast distances, the Alpen Optics 10×50 Apex Waterproof Binoculars will be your go-to optic for all outdoor activities in any weather conditions.

The Apex series features proprietary PXA phase-correcting prism coatings and HR metallic covered reflective prism surfaces that maximize light transmission and boost clarity and contrast. The prism coatings are complemented by anti-reflection fully multicoated optics which provide bright and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition. The 50mm objectives gather all the light needed to keep views crisp and bright in challenging conditions, such as at dawn and dusk, while producing a wide exit pupil and comfortable eye relief despite their high power. Their wide field of view helps to minimize the distracting hand-shake that is common with high-power optics and reduces side-to-side head movement.

Optical Performance

• Ideal for long-range use, the 10x magnification brings objects in close for detailed observation
• Large 50mm objective lenses ensure views are bright and crisp when viewing at long-range and in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk
• Compact roof prisms help to offset the extra size and weight of the larger objects by allowing for a thinner housing without compromising performance
• BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
• PXA phase correcting prism coatings improve contrast and clarity
• HR metallic prism coatings on internal reflective surfaces to limit light loss and maximize light transmission through the prism system
• Anti-reflection fully multicoatings improve light transmission, color rendition, and contrast
• Wide apparent angle of view minimizes the appearance of distracting hand-shake
• Spacious 341′ field of view at 1000 yards
